This work of 7 photographs of sunflowers is echoing the 7 canvases of Van Gogh.
However they are on two different planes.
The sunflowers of Van Gogh are cutflowers in a vase exposing their stereotyped beauty.
Tania Mouraud’s sunflowers are in the fields, at the end of their life cycle.
Shot in backlight, they stand out, darkened with subtle details, over a tormented sky, showing the alteration of the living.
The specific treatment of the prints creates a definite ambiguity.
Are we looking at photographs or at paintings ?
We are in front of a twilight vision allowing freedom of interpretation.

Cette série de 7 photographies de tournesols fait écho aux 7 peintures de Van Gogh.
Pourtant tout les oppose : Les tournesols de Van Gogh sont coupés, dans un vase, éclatants dans leur beauté stéréotypée.
Ceux de Tania Mouraud sont sur pied, dans les champs. Photographiés à contrejour, ils se découpent sombres, avec de subtils détails, sur un fond de ciel tourmenté et montrent l’altération du vivant.
Le traitement spécifique du tirage créée une ambiguïté certaine. S’agit-il de photographie ou de peinture ?Nous sommes face à une version crépusculaire laissant place à l’imaginaire.
