Few visitors get a glimpse of this work since it can only be seen from the top of the dovecote tower at Frac Lorraine. This monumental work fits the size of the landscape. In line with her work titled “NI”, to which Frac Lorraine owns the rights, Tania Mouraud lets out a cry of outrage. This outcry was provoked by Schoenberg’s opera A Survivor from Warsaw, in which the narrator recounts, in English, the invasion of the ghetto by the SS. Tania Mouraud touches on the subversive paradox of language. Quite difficult to grasp at first, the work innocently propels the viewer to decipher it. The meaning jumps out at those who try. “How can you sleep?” is a slap in the face to our voluntary blindness.

Réservée à quelques spectateurs puisqu’elle n’est visible que depuis le haut de la tour pigeonnier du bâtiment du Frac Lorraine, cette pièce monumentale est à l’échelle du paysage. Dans la continuité de la pièce « NI » dont le Frac Lorraine a acquis les droits, Tania Mouraud lance un cri de révolte. Ce cri provient de l’opéra de Schoenberg Un survivant de Varsovie, dans lequel le narrateur raconte en anglais l’invasion du ghetto par les SS. Tania Mouraud touche au paradoxe subversif du langage. Si peu compréhensible à première vue, l’oeuvre incite bien innocemment à déchiffrer. À celui qui s’en donne la peine, le sens saute à la figure. « Comment pouvez-vous dormir ? » sonne comme une injonction générale face à nos aveuglements volontaires.
